As spotted during the Computex 2016, the GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming looks very impressive. It seems that the card will only come with a custom PCB with 8-Pin and 6-Pin PCIe power connectors. The use of the dual power connectors suggests that the card will be factory overclocked, and also some additional features will be added.
Judging from the pictures taken by TechPowerUp, the card features two front facing HDMI ports which allow the users to connect VR headsets easily using either a VR bracket or front 5.25-inch panel. The card appears to be using the slightly different version of Windforce 3X cooler, which features RGB LEDs at the center.
he card supports up to 8K displays at 60 Hz, and its 3x 100 mm stack
fans provide smooth airflow. The GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming has “more
heatsink coverage than 3x 80mm fans,” which allows the fans to give 10%
better cooling performance.
Recently, Gigabyte unveiled its GTX 1080 G1 GAMING, which have all the making of a powerful graphics card, and also features the company’s signature WINDFORCE 3X cooling system. The card is equipped with three fans that keep the heat level in check.
The GTX 1080 G1 Gaming has a stock base clock of 1697 MHz and a boost clock of 1733 MHz. In gaming mode, the card has has base clock of 1695 MHz and a boost clock of 1835 MHz, and in overclock mode it has a base frequency of 1721 MHz and boost frequency of 1860 MHz.
The performance specs of GTX 1080 Xtreme Gaming have not yet been revealed by Gigabyte, which will hopefully be revealed in near future.
